Welcome to Pinhoti Ridge Farms, a beautiful Angus cow farm located in the blackbelt region of South Alabama approximately 35 minutes southeast of Montgomery, Alabama. Pinhoti (Pin-ho-tee), a Creek Indian word meaning “home of the wild turkey” and our farm initials PRF happen to be the same as ours, Philip & Robin Ferrell.

When Philip and I first met, we quickly developed a strong connection for our dream of owning a farm and returning to our roots fostered in childhood… a simple life and a life on the farm.  After years of hard work, sacrifice and a common goal, we now own Pinhoti Ridge Farms.

Our Angus herd was built from the ground up with a strong focus on fertility, longevity, maternal traits and the ability to thrive on native grasses. Our roots are in the commercial cow business and that is how we manage our registered Angus herd today. We put heavy culling pressure on our Angus cattle with a focus on all traits that are important to a commercial operation. We constantly strive to improve our Angus genetics by using AI and embryo transfer from some of the industry’s very best sires and the best of our dams. This allows us to use a variety of elite genetics as we select our Angus cattle for sale and replacements.
